The Booth public schoolhouse began construction in 1911 with completion in 1912. It was one of two segregated schools built in the Booth area.
Irby Booth, the towns namesake, owned a cotton gin, general store, lumberyard and syrup mill. He founded the settlement of Booth in the 1890s.
